Export credit agencies

As ECAs’ portfolios tend to be unbalanced, with high concentrations of risk, government owners of ECAs are increasingly eager to measure this risk by applying modern capital management techniques, or indeed by allocating capital to their ECA.

When the true costs of such risk concentrations are recognised, managing them through risk transfer makes clear economic sense. Consequently, demand for our services in this area is set to grow. ECAs hold risk through long cycles of disbursement, repayment, default and recovery and, as a result, find natural partners in the insurance industry.
