Modern Slavery Act Statement

This statement applies to Berry Palmer & Lyle Limited and BPL (Holdings) Limited (together, “BPL”).

We have a zero-tolerance policy on modern slavery and human trafficking in our organisation and supply chain.

This statement provides information about BPL and what steps we have taken in order to identify and minimise the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking occurring within our business or supply chain.

Our organisation

BPL has its headquarters in London and regional offices in Paris, New York, Singapore, Geneva and Hong Kong. Worldwide we employ over 100 people.

We are the leading insurance broker specialising exclusively in credit and political risk insurance for multinational corporations, banks and financial institutions.

The supply chains we use

Our supply chains include IT services and equipment, office facilities, recruitment, training and development, marketing and communications, and professional services.

Our approach

While we believe that the insurance industry is not exposed to a high risk of slavery and human trafficking, we are committed to minimising the likelihood of it occurring within our business and supply chains.

We carry out robust due diligence on all of our counterparties to ensure that they are of good repute and that there are no legal or compliance-related reasons why we should not conduct business with them.

As part of our risk management process, we review our business and supply chains to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place and that the risks of it occurring are minimised.

All employees, contractors, suppliers and clients are encouraged to report any concerns that they have about any unethical conduct including slavery and human trafficking and we will investigate accordingly.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes BPL’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2021.
