Emma Ashworth joined BPL Global in 2016 as a Director, bringing 30 years of industry experience. She was previously an Executive Director in Willis’ Credit and Political Risks division, focusing on financial institution clients.
Emma works alongside the other directors to develop BPL Global’s future strategy; with a focus on cementing the company’s leading position in its specialist market and exploring new business opportunities, especially with financial institutions. Emma also assists on BPL Global’s export and bank business in Germany, France, Italy and Turkey.
Before joining BPL Global, Emma spent 29 years at Willis, 16 of these as an Executive Director in Willis’ Credit and Political Risks division. Most recently she was responsible for the division’s largest client, a major investment bank.
Previously Emma led Willis’ UK and European CPRI business team, and has experience in developing and placing business for North American clients – with an emphasis on large-scale corporates across a range of sectors.
During her career at Willis Emma has accumulated wide-ranging experience, including three years as Divisional Director in International Property Reinsurance handling clients in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Previously, she was the expatriate manager at a newly-established affiliate office in Hungary set up to develop regional business.
Emma is a Chartered Insurance Broker, with the Chartered Institute of Insurance, and studied Russian and Soviet Studies with Law at the University of Surrey.
