James joined BPL Global in 2014 and was appointed Director in April 2017 before being promoted to Deputy CEO in September 2022. He manages a team of eight people and is responsible for a number of key client relationships, including leading and servicing one of BPL Global’s largest commodity trading clients, as well as a number of large banks. James also plays a key role in developing the company’s financial institution and corporate client base, particularly in Europe and North America.

Global, diverse expertise developed from a claims background

James joined BPL Global from Willis, where he began his career in 2008 and served in a number of roles globally. This included over four years as a CPRI Claims Broker in the largest, most prolonged claims cycle the market has seen following the Global Financial Crisis. Following his claims career, James held a number of placing roles in both London and New York. Throughout this time, James was actively involved in the procurement, development and placement of business for a number of large American institutions.

He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a graduate from the University of Sheffield.
