Philippine de Villèle started her career in the CPRI market in 2008 as an assistant underwriter at AIG in London. She then moved to JLT where she focused on the market’s largest French investment bank account, mainly on trade and structured finance transactions. She relocated to Paris in 2011 and joined BPL Global, working with commodity traders and key French banking clients on trade, structured, project and export finance.
Given this experience with banks, Philippine was recruited in 2013 by UBS in Geneva as head of its CPRI team, within their Commodity Trade Finance department. Her role was to set up the insurance product internally, according to Basel, FINMA and UBS’ guidelines. She was in charge of on-boarding and managing insurers’ relationships, promoting CPRI insurance within UBS, and developing the bank’s insurance portfolio.
In 2018, Philippine re-joined BPL Global as a director to establish its branch office in Geneva. She is in charge of liaising with the local regulator FINMA, developing new relationships with Swiss-based banks, traders, NGOs and other industries, and acting as local point of contact for BPL’s existing clients.
Philippine holds a master of International Business from Ecole Supérieure du Commerce Exterieur (Paris), a Certificate in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute and a diploma of Intermédiaire d’Assurance AFA. Philippine is a native French speaker and is fluent in English and Spanish.
