Reshma Tanna has over 20 years’ experience in the credit and political risk industry, both during two stints at BPL Global, and as the class underwriter for political risks at Catlin. Having started her career at BPL Global in 1996 as a graduate trainee, Reshma rejoined as a director and board member in 2005. She was appointed to the group board in 2008.
Reshma is the first port of call for one of BPL Global’s largest clients, and one of the biggest in the CPRI market – a global financial institution. Reshma has significantly grown the volume of BPL Global’s work for them since 2005, focusing predominantly on the provision of credit insurance for large long-term emerging market loans.
Reshma works in a team of eight brokers, alongside fellow director Oliver Wright, also focusing on trader and exporter clients.
Reshma has experience across the complete spectrum of CPRI coverage, having begun her BPL Global career in 1996 in Charles Berry’s broking team, focusing on trader business and the provision of investment insurance to multi-national companies, before taking on increasing volumes of banking business as BPL Global’s business developed in that area.
In addition, Reshma has extensive claims and arbitration experience, and handled a significant number of claims for trader clients at the height of the Russian oil crisis, and at the time of Brazil’s currency devaluation.
Sandwiched between her two periods at BPL Global, Reshma spent a year as a class underwriter for political risks at Catlin, broadening her experience of the CPRI market as a whole.
Reshma has a Masters in International Management from King’s College London, having graduated in Chemistry from Birmingham University.
