As Managing Director of BPL Global between 1996 and 2016, Robin oversaw the company’s development as it transformed itself from a London-based wholesale broker to a retail operation by growing in terms of clients, employees and geographic coverage. He is credited as being the driving force behind the establishment of BPL Global’s finance, compliance and IT corporate infrastructure.

Robin has also played a significant role in engineering and implementing BPL Global’s succession plan, ensuring that it remains an independent and employee-owned business, providing continuity for clients and employees alike.

As a Director, Robin continues to manage BPL Global’s ambitious digitalisation strategy; migrating business systems to modern open-access platforms and web-enabling new systems for clients and underwriters to access relevant information quickly and securely.

40 years of experience with financial institutions

Robin is a Chartered Accountant with over 40 years’ experience of working with financial institutions. He started his career at PwC, specialising in financial institutions, insurance companies and commodity trading – working in both London and Sydney.

Subsequently he was Finance Director of the Credit & Political Risk Insurance, Life & Pensions and UK Insurance Broking divisions of Hogg Robinson, which had a combined workforce of around 900 employees.

He also has experience in corporate roles at Lloyd’s brokers Blackwall Green and Robert Barrow.
